2004 Domaine Jamet, Cote Rotie, Cote Brune 1x75cl

Robert Parker 90

I finally did get a chance to taste Jamet’s 2004 Cote Rotie Cote Brune. They only makes 2,400 bottles (200 cases) of this wine from a 1.2-acre parcel in the Cote Brune. This is a strong effort in a high-yielding year. The wine spent two years in cask, about 35% of which was new oak, a higher percentage than their other Cote Rotie. The wine has good, sweet herbal notes intermixed with cherries, plum, and animal fat. It is medium to full-bodied, soft, and best drunk over the next decade.
